GREECE provides some of the most wonderful cruising grounds on the planet. Interspersed within the crystal clear waters you will discover picturesque islands with quiet sandy coves, beautiful villages and a warm welcoming atmosphere.
DESCRIPTION
There are four major cruising grounds waiting to be discovered. The most famous is the Cyclades where you will find legendary destinations, such as Mykonos and Santorini, but also gorgeous unknown islands, such as Folegadros, Sifnos, Koufonisia and Amorgos.
To the west of Greece you will find the Ionian sea which is particularly renowned for the majestic town of Corfu, the quaint and colorful port of Fiscardo in Kefalonia, the charming sea turtles of Zakinthos and the dream-like beaches of Antipaxos.
Just south of Athens, you will find the Saronic islands and the Peloponnese. This area combines natural beauty with a wealth of culture. Here you will discover the beautiful islands of Spetses and Hydra, the historical town of Nafplion, as well as unique archaeological sites, including Mycenae, the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, Ancient Nemea and the byzantine ruins of Monemvasia and Mystras.
To the east of Greece lies the eastern Aegean and Dodecanese islands, where the journey to Rhodes leads to it's impressive fortified city and medieval castles, Symi, with it beautiful little villages and numerous other beautiful islands, such as Patmos and Lesbos.

BEST TIME TO TRAVEL
The season starts in May and finishes in October. Though the Cycladic islands are ever popular, the Saronic and the Ionian are particularly to be recommended in July and August as they are protected from the predominately northerly winds called Meltemi.
